The SHM^®-INDUSTRIAL is a revolutionary interface to Oceana Sensor's ICHM^® suite of products for Wireless e-Diagnostics^®.  All SHM^® products provide ICHM^® device management and setup, data fusion and local decision support, as well as display and storage.  However, the advent of the SHM^®-INDUSTRIAL brings plant-wide monitoring capability with a robust, highly fault tolerant, portable and extensible system.

This is accomplished via the Data Acquisitions Engine (DAE), which is the core module of the SHM^®-INDUSTRIAL system.  The DAE is responsible for periodically acquiring data from multiple ICHM^®'s as well as providing necessary data to other SHM^®'s, decision support systems, and other third-party software systems such as CMMS, ERP, MRP, and SCADA

The third-party messaging system currently used by the DAE is interoperable with standards, not only from Windows, but also on other operating systems such as Unix and Linux, easily achieving high-speed communications.  It is also completely independent of the underlying communication protocol such as TCP/IP, BluetoothT, NetBEUI, and NetBIOS.  This is an important feature to ensure portability and future extensibility of the system.

The SHM^®-INDUSTRIAL is Ethernet enabled, allowing a plant's existing infrastructure to be utilized for plant-wide communications.  Continuing to take advantage of open standards, the SHM^®-INDUSTRIAL stores its data in an ODBC database, providing a user-friendly pipeline to third-party software packages.
